Members-only content

Most of the time, you want a website that is publicly visible - that any person can see.  However, at times you may want to create a section of your website which is password-protected, so that people have to login in order to see it.  AlbanyWeb can offer you a granular user scheme, including a registration and de-registration process, so that you can allow logged-in visitors to see certain parts of your website, without allowing them to edit or see things that they shouldn't.

We can add a members-only area to your existing AlbanyWeb website too, just ask.

Yoga with Bijam is a calm and informative website about Satyananda yoga practice, with details of classes offered by Bijam.  Each colour and element was carefully selected for its significance to Satyananda practice, including the specially designed logo of the seed with the bija (mantras) sprouting from it.  From the beginning AlbanyWeb designed this website to be an affordable customisation - in addition to all the features we offer as standard, we added a very simple members-only area.  This contains links...

Cancer Nanomedicine is another COST Action website.  For this website, the researchers were anxious to get online very quickly, and so we broke this project into three phases:

  • A simple, four-page brochure website, which contained the regulatory information required of COST Actions.
  • The public-facing parts of the website, including the final design, menu structure, news and events content types.  At this point, the customer had access to create new content and update the site.
  • The private, members only features, which...

Yoga Scotland is the official governing body for yoga in Scotland, offering class listings, training and certification for yoga instructors, as well as other activities for people interested in learning more about yoga.  Over the years, their original Wordpress website became less fit for purpose and harder to maintain, and they lacked the expertise to manage their own hosting effectively.

AlbanyWeb offered a package to update their website, incorporating an improved version of our Threads of Yoga class search database. ...

The Rugby Family History group is a voluntary genealogy organisation, whose members specialise in the family histories of the Rugby area.  Their existing website needed a fundamental software upgrade, and they felt it was no longer a job for a volunteer.  AlbanyWeb did a website conversion from Joomla and created extra functions to help them more easily operate as a society.

Within the limited budget, AlbanyWeb focused on customised page templates to help organise and display the results of research...

The MouseAGE website details the work of an EU COST Action, examining mouse models in the use of examing age and age-related disease.  Like all COST Actions, MouseAGE represents a diverse community of scientists from many countries, and they needed a flexible public-facing website with some networking options for members of the network.

We started with our standard COST Action website package, which offered most of what MouseAGE required, including automated listings for events and news items.  However, we...

We created this website in accordance with the specifications for this Europoean COST Action, a networking project in atomic layer deposition research in Europe.  Starting with our basic COST Action package, we created a fully customised website with many extra features and custom content, including:

  • Special forms and templates to describe collaborations and publications, which could then be easily linked to other pieces of content such as Working Groups.
  • A customised member profile allowing easy and automated linkage to all...

The London Self-Directed Support Forum is an association of social care professionals and is dedicated to sharing best practice within the field.  The website forms part of their strategy to increase communication and participation amongst members, as well as to increase membership and raise awareness about social care issues.

The Forum is run by a committee and therefore required a website that projected their aims very clearly, but also was extremely easy to update.  AlbanyWeb simplified the image uploading options...
